After 10 years of training and showing
our own Miniature Horses backed by many years of large horse experience we
decided to open our doors to outside horses. This decision has proved
to be a good one as our first year has been one of the most rewarding
experiences we have ever had.
We have had wonderful support
from clients that have provided us with top quality horses to represent
their farms. We look forward to AMHR Nationals in Tulsa with these fabulous
equine to display. Words cannot express the gratitude and personal
fulfillment that having these horses in our barn has given us.
Our
methods are a culmination of years of experience working with and watching
several trainers and their methods. We have taken bits and pieces
from this and created our own methods that have been successful for us and
will be for you too. If you are looking for that extra edge that can
take your horse to the next level we are here to help you achieve that
goal.
At HHP
Training Center, we strive to be on the cutting edge of the Miniature
Horse industry. We are dedicated to the betterment of the breed and
displaying them in their best light for future advancement of the breed.
We will strive to maintain an open line of communication with you as an
owner and client and keep you informed of your horse’s progress along the
way.
While your horse is in training at
HHP Training Center, it will receive daily rations of the finest hay
available to the area as well as the grain supplement that we feel will
best suit your horse’s needs. Vitamin and mineral supplements will be
provided in order to assure your horse is in top health both physically
and mentally for peak performance. No performance or enhancement drugs
will be given your horse. Only medically necessary drugs will be
administered by or under the direction of a licensed veterinarian.
Grooming is an important part of conditioning as a horse coat represents
the inner well being of the horse. Time is given each horse weekly for a
complete grooming including deep brushing and conditioning of mane and
tail. In the winter months when bathing is not possible they are vacuumed
and blown in order get deep clean for healthy skin that is able to
breath. Frequent inspection of the horse’s body is made to look for any
type of abnormality or soreness.
Down time is an important part of training as well, we all need breaks and
days off, so do horses. I maintain a schedule of 5 days a week of
exercise and training and each horse get 2 days a week to just be a horse
to rest, graze, play, whatever it is that they enjoy doing. Horses are
daily turned out year round unless weather does not permit.
Our barns have 18 spacious stalls available for your horses comfort. Horses
are stalled separately for safety and food management. Heated water is in
each stall during the winter months to encourage drinking and fans are
used in the summer when needed to provide a comfortable living environment
for your horse.
Lessons are included in your training and we encourage you to take
advantage of this so you can learn along with your horse in order to make
the best appearance in the ring.
